Ground-breaking ceremony for pioneering E-Park & Ride project

On January 13, 2026, Galliker Transport AG set an important milestone: the traditional ground-breaking ceremony for the new "E-Park & Ride" project took place in Dagmersellen. At the same time, the completed E-Power Bridge was officially opened just a few meters away. Both projects are characterized by a modern, energy-efficient and future-oriented infrastructure for electric mobility in heavy goods traffic.

A project of great importance for the location

With the "E-Park & Ride", a state-of-the-art charging infrastructure with 41 high-performance charging points for electric trucks is being created in Dagmersellen. Thanks to the high charging capacity, more than one vehicle can be charged per charging point, meaning that a total of up to 82 trucks can be supplied per night. The energy required per night corresponds to the annual consumption of around nine 4.5-room apartments and is provided by three 2 MW transformers. With this infrastructure, Galliker is responding specifically to the growing demand for a low-emission vehicle fleet and consolidating its role as a pioneer in the field of sustainable transport solutions.

To compensate for the existing parking space, a two-storey underground garage with around 300 parking spaces will be built, 74 of which will be equipped with charging points for employees' electric cars. It will be connected to the existing logistics centers efficiently and protected from the weather via two underground connecting tunnels, which will improve both safety and daily operations at the site.

The load-bearing structure of the building is based on 38 concrete piles with a diameter of two meters. These transfer the loads into the ground at a depth of around 20 meters - four of these piles would be enough to support the Eiffel Tower. The two underpass elements for the connecting tunnels, each weighing up to 320 tons, are prefabricated locally. They will then be moved into their final position using one of the largest crawler cranes in Switzerland.

Visitor center as a new arrival point

A special element of the project is the new visitor center, which will mark the entrance to the underground car park in future. A spacious lounge for employees and an auditorium, which will be available for both internal training courses and external visitor groups, will be created on the upper floor. The project will thus make an important contribution to both the infrastructure and as a meeting place for employees and the public.

Sustainable further development at the head office

The ground-breaking ceremony underlines the strategic implementation of the Zero Emissions Network. This has set itself the goal of equipping all locations with a fully integrated, emission-free energy and charging infrastructure. With the help of photovoltaic systems, high-performance battery storage, medium-voltage grids and a corresponding charging infrastructure, around 650 trucks should be able to run on electricity by the end of 2030. The E-Power-Bridge in Altishofen, which was opened on the same day, is a building block on this path that has already been implemented. It ensures an efficient energy supply for the constantly growing electric fleet. Stored solar energy is used optimally to charge the vehicles sustainably both during the day and at night.

At the celebrations, CEO Peter Galliker emphasized the strategic importance of the new infrastructure:

"With the E-Park & Ride and the E-Power Bridge, we are creating an infrastructure that will sustainably support the transformation of our company into a low-emission transportation service provider. With the Zero Emissions Network, we are investing in a future in which our logistics are climate-friendly and responsible."

The ground-breaking ceremony and opening of the E-Power Bridge took place in the presence of numerous guests from politics and business as well as the regional population. With this project, the Galliker Group is taking another important step in its long-term commitment to modern, efficient and resource-saving transport and logistics solutions.
