SwissSkills preparations in full swing: Galliker & Imbach apprentices passionately on target

Preparations for SwissSkills 2025 are in full swing for a few Galliker apprentices. In the areas of road transport, logistics and IT, the five participants are training specifically to prepare themselves optimally for the national competition - with technical depth, practical exercises and a great deal of personal commitment.

Technical fine-tuning and new experiences

In the area of IT, Nico Eicher is currently completing online courses in various programs and is working intensively with the central services of the Amazon Cloud (AWS). The switch from the classic data center to the cloud is a particular challenge. Supported by a partner company and practical training environments, he is succeeding in building up security in the new technology step by step.

Learning and practising is also in full swing in road transportation. In order to cover as many scenarios as possible, we are working closely with external partner companies - for example for concrete mixer transportation or crane work that does not occur in regular Galliker everyday life. At the beginning of July, the road transport specialists Robin, Lukas and Timo will have to face a preliminary competition to decide who will represent Galliker at SwissSkills.

In logistics, Apuurvan Ravindran is working on deepening his knowledge. He received additional information about SwissSkills two weeks ago and is actively involved in the preparations. Certain tasks will have to be completed in a playful manner (e.g. forklift basketball) and Apuurvan is perfecting his handling of these tools on a daily basis.

Strengths, stumbling blocks and a clear focus

The challenges should not be underestimated: Time management between work, further training and preparation demands a lot from the participants.

The apprentices benefit from a strong internal network of experienced colleagues who are willing to pass on their knowledge. In addition, all important information was communicated at an early stage - this creates security and trust.

Enthusiasm instead of pressure

Taking part in SwissSkills is a milestone - and not something to be taken for granted. That's why an important motto during the preparation phase is:

"Take it easy, make it easy."

the focus is on the experience, not the pressure. The apprentices should be proud of their journey and go about it with joy and openness. Because that is exactly what the Galliker Academy is all about: Space for development, personal growth - and genuine enthusiasm for the profession.
